ECP4 welcomes IKV and LIST as new members in 2026
ECP4 is pleased to announce that the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV), RWTH Aachen and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) are joining the platform as new members in 2026.
These two leading research organisations expand ECP4’s network of research institutions, regional clusters and EU-level industry organisations, reinforcing the platform’s mission to foster collaborative research and development, strengthen industry access to EU research programmes, and accelerate the uptake of new technologies across plastics and composites value chains.
Strengthening applied research from processing to performance
IKV brings decades of expertise in plastics processing and technology transfer, with research spanning core processing methods such as injection moulding and extrusion, process and structure simulation, surface technology, and working across thermoplastics, elastomers, thermosets, polyurethanes, and fibre reinforced plastics.
LIST contributes strong capabilities in polymer and composite materials research, including work on polymeric materials and additives for applications across multiple sectors and the development of more sustainable polymer composites designed for recyclability and performance. LIST has also highlighted expertise in polymer processing, including extrusion and process modelling.
Growing collaboration for stronger circular outcomes
With IKV and LIST on board, ECP4 further expands its collective capacity to translate research into deployable solutions that improve resource efficiency, support high value applications for recycled and circular feedstocks, and raise circular performance across products and processes.
About IKV
The Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) in Aachen is a renowned research and training institute for plastics processing, active in research, teaching and innovation since 1950, with research covering major plastics processing technologies and materials.
About LIST
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) carries out research and innovation, including in polymer and composite materials and polymer processing, with work that spans advanced polymeric materials and sustainable composite development.
